Position Title: Products Operator

Reports to: Vice President of Products

Job Summary:

The Product Operator will be responsible for the scheduling and delivery of biofuels and other light commodity products by pipeline or waterborne transportation to third party and company locations to meet customer’s demand. The operator will work closely with traders, clients, and terminals to coordinate movements for appropriate timing, batch and sequence of product shipments. The goal of the operator is to ensure the successful coordination of shipments to support physical commodity movement, while also minimizing transportation costs and maintaining quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling biofuels and other light commodity products and coordinate all required movements
  • Monitor inventories at terminals and refineries daily and adjust logistics schedule to avoid shortages and the use of excess working capital
  • Develop improved scheduling methods to efficiently utilize company resources, optimize inventory levels, and minimize transportation costs
  • Coordinate communications between terminals, risk, marketing, exchange and product Quality regarding any inventory or operational issue
  • Accurately capture transaction into UNIPEC System and create contract per traders’ recap
  • Resolves issues with respect to all operational claims/documents
  • Provide backup to other operators and interact/coordinate with our internal groups/companies to complete all required tasks
  • Prepares and reconciles invoices as necessary
  • Partners and collaborates with our back office to positively manage the settlements process with third parties
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to build positive relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well without supervision and self-starter
  • Bilingual Spanish and English required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or economics
  • Two or more years of commodities scheduling and relevant industry experience
  • Refinery planning and/or operations experience is an asset
  • Two or more years of waterborne scheduling experience

Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Required to be available 24/7, depending on business needs
  • Occasional cross-border travel may be required

Salary: $90,000.00 to $120,000.00 /year
