Position Description

This position will manage and participate in the operations of a biomedical research laboratory on behalf of the principal investigator (PI). Responsibilities include maintaining a system to organize research materials and regulatory compliance records needed for the PI and research staff to conduct, interpret and publish experiments in academic journals; to participate in these research activities by conducting and analyzing experiments, and to supervise or train junior members of the laboratory such as research technologists or students.

Current expertise in biomedical research techniques relevant to immunological studies of inflammatory processes and immunization outcomes is preferred, including BSL2 cell culture, immunoblotting, ELISA, quantitative PCR, histology or flow cytometry.

Oral and written communication skills are important in this position for coordination of research activities within and beyond the research group, and for assisting the PI with preparation of academic publications and grant applications.
